Fèis Ìle 2021 – Programme und Abfüllungen für das Online Festival
Wie bereits angekündigt wird auch dieses Jahr das „The Islay Festival of Music and Malt“ – das Fèis Ìle 2021- wieder Online stattfinden wie bereits im letzten Jahr. Langsam werden erste Details verkündet und die ersten Abfüllungen werden angeboten. Wer ein Tasting Pack haben möchte oder eine Flasche muss dann wohl wieder schnell sein. Aber auch ohne die spezielle Abfüllungen hat mir das Festival letztes Jahr auch Online sehr gut gefallen.
Ich werde ich auch dieses Jahr meine Zusammenfassung erstellen, dann hat man etwas über die Jahre zum Nachlesen, denn die „alten“ Programme verschwinden sonst aus dem Netz. Ich werde dafür diesen Artikel aktualisieren, sobald ich neue Programme oder Abfüllungen mitbekommen habe. Die meist aktuellste Seite ist die vom Festival selber, aber manche Destillerien nutzen andere Kanäle und dann kann es schon mal zu spät sein. Diesen Artikel werde ich regelmäßig aktualisieren. Sag Bescheid, wenn Du Neuigkeiten hast, die hier ergänzt werden sollen!

The Lagavulin bottling has been matured in refill American Oak casks and finished in high char Port-seasoned casks. The limited edition run of 6,000 bottles will be released with an ABV of 54.4%, and an RSP of £160 per 70cl. Available to purchase at Lagavulin Distillery and malts.com.

Programminfo: „On 29 May, from 7pm the Lagavulin Distillery warehouse will play host to an evening of performances by Scottish singers, Joy and Andrew Dunlop and the Niall Kirkpatrick Ceilidh Band. Attendees, who can tune in to the virtual event via the Lagavulin Facebook page, will also get an exclusive first look at the highly anticipated festival bottling. The live stream will also feature an adventure on Islay’s surrounding sea, a hike around the island showcasing the breath-taking scenery, and a behind the scenes look at a day in the life of warehouse manager Iain McArthur.„

For our Fèis Ìle 2021 celebrations, we’re celebrating a swathe of firsts – from poignant moments in our distillery’s history to the present day. We’ll offer three different bottlings in our ballot, opening at the end of our virtual festival on the 30th of May and closing on the 4th June 2021.. Our first-ever limited edition Islay Aged Gin, a 2011 single cask, celebrates the 10th birthday of The Botanist. Our Laddie Origins bottling features liquid milestones from our historic firsts and celebrates 20 years since our distillery’s resurrection. For good measure, we’ve included a 17-year-old, sherry matured single cask from our unpeated Bruichladdich range. Visit the individual pages of each bottling to discover the intricacies behind each eclectic spirit.
*) Die Zusammensetzung des Laddie Origins klingt spannend: „As we celebrate 20 years since our distillery’s resurrection, we raise a toast to the milestones that will help shape our future. As a fitting tribute, our unpeated Bruichladdich Laddie Origins is a commemorative liquid journey that brings together some of the highlights of these last two decades. Some of our firsts, including our first triple distilled X3 and spirit distilled from our first crop of biodynamically grown barley, are combined with high provenance Islay, Bere and organically grown. This complex recipe draws single malt from 13 casks across 12 vintages, 6 barley types and 9 different cask types. This Fèis Ìle 70cl release is limited to 3,000 bottles, is bottled at 56.3% abv and is only available online from our distillery. As with all of our Fèis Ìle bottlings to date, it has been designed without a tin.„

The Caol Ila festival bottling has been matured in refill American-Oak and finished in high char Moscatel-seasoned casks. Fèis Ìle Caol Ila 12 Year-Old is bottled at 56.6% ABV, with only 3,000 bottles available. It will retail from £130 per 70cl. Available to purchase at Lagavulin Distillery and malts.com.

Programminfo: „At Caol Ila on 31 May, starting at 7pm on the Caol Ila Facebook page, a night of whisky and music will take place with Glasgow based actor and musician, Patricia Panther, as guest host. Mairi McGillvary, an Islay born award-winning Gaelic singer will share some of her latest music and Alasdair Currie, a Gaelic singer and piper also based on Islay, will join the line up for a special performance. The evening is complete with a first look at the Caol Ila Fèis Ìle Festival bottling, delicious whisky cocktail recipes and a specially commissioned contemporary composition from singer-songwriter Beldina Odenyo.„

Bowmore Tasting Packs Available!
Bowmore Distillery are delighted to announce that they have a very limited number of TASTING PACKS available to order directly from the Visitor Centre so that you can taste our fabulous 18 Year Old and 23 Year Old Fèis Ìle Limited Editions along with David and Iain during their live event on Wednesday the 2nd of June. Currently, they are only able to ship our tasting packs within the UK.
The tasting pack includes 25ml drams of the Classic Bowmore 12YO, 15YO and 18YO, as well as our two fantastic festival whiskies: the Bowmore 18 Year Old Fèis Ìle Limited Edition, and the Bowmore 23 Year Old Vintage 1996 Fèis Ìle Limited Edition.

Infos von Anthony Wills: „This year’s release of 2,832 bottles will be available online from 2pm (Islay time) on April 21st from our website along with three tasting packs for live events on our Fèis day, June 3rd. Anthony has selected eight 100% Islay casks for this year’s release, two 2011 oloroso sherry butts and six 2012 bourbon barrels. The casks were filled with 20ppm 100% Islay spirit, distilled from Optic and Publican barley varieties, harvested at Kilchoman in 2010 and 2011.“
