Feis Ile 2020 – es findet statt – online
Das Feis Ile 2020 wurde wie alle Großveranstaltungen abgesagt. Aber nun gibt es neue Informationen, die ein wenig hoffen lassen. Wie das Festival über Facebook verkündet hat, wird es eine Online-Version des Festivals geben. Noch gibt es keine weiteren Informationen, aber ich bin gespannt und habe mir die Zeit zwischen 22. und 31.05.2020 in meinem Kalender (wieder) markiert.

„Our festival is so important to us and our island, we’re taking it online! We’ll bring as much of the festival as we can to you in your homes – safely of course! We’re still planning, so please save any questions you have for now and keep a lookout for updates!

Ich werde den Beitrag aktualisieren, wenn ich weitere Informationen habe. Ich freue mich drauf, denn ich hätte dieses Jahr nicht die Möglichkeit gehabt, daran teilzunehmen!

Lagavulin – 23.05.2020

- 19:00 Uhr (6pm BST): Live @ Lagavulin
Global Whisky Master Ewan Gunn, Master Distiller Colin Gordon, Global Brand Ambassador Ervin Trykowski, and Master Blender Dr Craig Wilson will discuss life on Islay, distillery happenings and tastings of Lagavulin favourites. Later on, Brand Ambassador TJ Littlejohn will take over to create smoky cocktails live from his home bar, finishing the day in the perfect way to raise a toast to the first day of this year’s Virtual Fèis Ìle!
Bruichladdich – 24.05.2020
Der Bruichladdich CEO Douglas Taylor hat erste Andeutungen gemacht: alle Events, die es sonst vor Ort gibt, wird es auch in der ein oder anderen Form auch Online geben. Programm wird vermutlich am Nachmittag starten.

An die FoL (Friends of Laphroaig) ging ein Rundschreiben, dass man sich zu einem Online-Tasting (vorher registrieren!!) am 26.05. um 18:15 Uhr Islay Time (19:15 unserer Zeit):
„#LaphroaigLive From Islay – Join John Campbell and Simon Brooking for a dram and listen to stories about whisky, friendship and anything that might come up. Bis jetzt ist noch das ursprünglich geplante Programm Online auf der Webseite. Facebook scheint aktueller zu sein, aber noch ohne Program.

Anthony will explore how different barley and yeast varieties influence the character of our whiskies. We will compare Concerto and Octavia barley varieties distilled in 2019 and matured in Bourbon barrels as well as Mauri and Kerry yeast matured in sherry casks also distilled in 2019.
Feis Ile 2020 Release

Info aus dem Newsletter: „This year’s release is a vatting of eleven bourbon barrels matured for a minimum of 12 years. A total of 2,630 bottles are being released at cask strength, 54.2% abv. Limited to two bottles per person, priced at £108 per bottle.„
Der Shop hat den Ansturm am 12.05. nicht überstanden – deshalb: „You may be aware that due to the high volumes of traffic on our website we were forced to postpone yesterday’s launch of our Fèis Ìle release and tasting packs. We have been working hard to find a solution and have now created a temporary shop, this is separate to our website and will host the sale of our Fèis Ìle items. This page is now up and running however you will not be able to purchase products until tomorrow at 2pm (Thursday 14th, 2pm UK Time). We understand the frustrations of those who were inconvenienced yesterday and sincerely apologise for any trouble this may have caused. On a positive note, all the bottles and packs are still sat in Glasgow waiting to be sent and we are nervously confident that the new one-page site will be able to handle the levels of traffic – fingers crossed. Fèis Ìle on Islay is the biggest whisky event of the year for us and every year we look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones from around the world. The festival may have been cancelled this year, however, we have decided to bring Fèis Ìle to you from the comfort of your own home – whether you had planned to come to Islay or not. Stay tuned for updates on tastings, our festival releases and plenty more fun from the team at Bunnahabhain.

Later, whisky expert; Dave Broom will be hosting our live tasting on Facebook with Master Distiller, Stephen Woodcock; Master Blender, Julieann Fernandez; Distillery Manager, Andrew Brown and Visitor Centre Manager, Billy Sinclair. They’ll be tasting this year’s festival editions, answering your questions and also have a surprise to share with you, so make sure you join us with a dram from 8pm (BST) on our Facebook page.

A sweet and fruity 2002 Madeira Cask Finish and for the peat lovers, a deliciously warming 2010 Mòine Amontillado Finish with notes of espresso, dried apple and honeycomb. Ardbeg hat eine erste Info per Newsletter verteilt:
Der Ardbeg Day 2020 geht live! Das erste virtuelle Feis Ile Festival findet zusammen mit uns und allen anderen Destillerien statt – und ihr seid alle eingeladen! Natürlich wird es bei der Ardbeg Day Home Edition auch Spiele, Musik und Unterhaltung geben, wie ihr es bereits kennt und selbstverständlich auch Whisky. Für euch haben wir uns ein zweiteiliges Event auf unserer Ardbeg Facebook-Fanpage ausgedacht:
- Nachmittags: Ab 14:00 Uhr – als Warm-up startet das Programm der Ardbeg Day Home Edition für Deutschland auf unserem Facebook-Kanal, mit einer prall gefüllten Agenda, auch aus den deutschen Ardbeg Embassies, lasst euch überraschen!
- Abends: Um 20:00 Uhr (MESZ) sehen wir uns dann zum Live-Stream von Islay. Denn: Was wäre ein Ardbeg Day ohne gemeinsames Tasting? Ich werde mich von Islay mit dem Fernschreiber in die ganze Welt beamen, um mit euch legendäre Ardbeg Abfüllungen aus zwei Jahrzehnten zu probieren und zu fachsimpeln – alles zu Ehren des 20-jährigen Bestehens des Ardbeg Committees!
