Heut ist Herbstanfang. Da kommen die neuen Ankündigungen gerade recht. Die dritte von vier Abfüllung von Douglas Laing aus der Serie Consortium of Cards: ein 28-jähriger Port Dundas. Sprinbank bietet über die Cadenhead Shops den neuen 14-jährigen Bourbon Wood an. Benromach hat ein Edition mit seltenem Wood Finish vorgestellt: Chateau Cissac. Von Gordon & MacPhail kommen gleich drei exklusive Single Malts: Mortlach, Bunnahabhain und Clynelish. Glendronach eine Sonderabfüllung für den 2. Teil von Kingsman. Und Glenrothes verkauft einen 32-jährigen Whisky, der noch nicht abgefüllt wurde.

Port Dundas

Cara Laing, in dritter Generation im Familiengeschäft, beschreibt ihn so: “As a self-confessed sweet tooth, this antique Port Dundas spirit is truly a dream dram. Its sherbety nose hints at the vanilla toffee and rich molasses palate, and runs to an indulgent finish packed with cappuccino, crushed nuts and maple syrup. The Port Dundas Distillery, in our home town of Glasgow, closed almost 10 years ago, so it’s a real privilege and pleasure for us to release this finite, charming whisky”.

Springbank

Original Tasting Notes

• Nose: This unique Campbeltown Malt starts off with cream, vanilla extract and yogurt. Salted popcorn, toffee and marshmallows follow the ever present creaminess. American cream soda, sugar doughnuts, with a heathery influence.
• Palate: Yogurt and thick cream continue from the nose with an introduction of honey, syrup and liquorice. Gentle notes and sweet apples, almonds and dried bananas. A light dusting of icing sugar and lemon zest.
• Finish: A touch of smoke and dry peat builds with a gentle sea breeze from Campbeltown Loch. Briny and light mineral flavours complete this excellent dram.

Benromach

Aus der Pressemitteilung: „The Benromach Chateau Cissac was finished in first fill Chateau Cissac casks for 25 months after being filled into first fill Bourbon, resulting in an initial peppery taste with sweet vanilla and creamy milk chocolates notes and hints of red wine tannins and lingering peat smoke.“

Original Tasting notes

Pour a good dram into a glass, noticing the dark gold colour, swirl it around and take some little sniffs to enjoy the aroma without water. The fabulous influence of the Château Cissac casks will be immediately apparent, with melon notes, red apples, delicate and zesty orange peel and dark chocolate. There’s also an underlying floral note and a delightful charred oak edge; the Benromach signature.

Now take a sip and enjoy the taste without water. It’s slightly peppery on the palate with sweet vanilla, creamy milk chocolate and there’s even refreshing lemon and limeade flavours with a nod and a wink towards the effervescent. Satisfying hints of red wine tannins emerge, complementing a lingering peat smoke.

Now add some water, swirl it around and savour the aroma with water. There are hints of pressed green apple and pear… and delicate oak aromas develop, complemented by the lingering peppermint.

Take a good sip and roll it around your mouth enjoying the taste with water. At first you’ll sense some spiciness and cracked black pepper. A slight bitterness develops, with grapefruit and orange peel. Now you may detect deeper hints of bonfire embers, complemented by Brazil nuts and gorgeous cocoa flavours.

Mortlach

Original Tasting Notes

• Nase: Die tolle Farbe lässt die Nase schon erahnen: Feine Sherry Noten gepaart
  mit Vanille und warmen Zitrusfrüchten.
• Geschmack: Am Gaumen dann auch hier die Süße von gedünstetem Obst, gefolgt von einer schönen Würze.
• Finish: Im Abgang ein leichter Hauch von Asche.

Bunnahabhain

Gordon & MacPhail Cask Strength, destilliert: 31.03.2009, abgefüllt: 14.06.2017, gereift in 1st Fill Sherry Hogsheads, Fassnr.: 326 + 327 + 329.

Original Tasting Notes

• Nase: In der Nase süße Aromen von Obstkuchen, Zimt und einem Hauch Schokolade.
• Geschmack: Am Gaumen weiterhin süß und cremig mit gedünstetem Obst und gerösteten Mandeln.

Clynelish

Exclusively bottled for Germany at Cask Strength, destilliert: 07.07.1997, abgefüllt: 06.2017 19 Jahre alt. Gereift in einem 1st Fill American Hogshead Fassnr.: 6483.

Original Tasting Notes

• Farbe: Der Clynelish präsentiert sich in einem schönen Gold-Ton.
• Nase: In der Nase zunächst süße Kokosnuss-Aromen gefolgt von reifen Birnen, Melonen und einem
  Hauch Honig.
• Geschmack: Ein sahniges Mundgefühl mit etwas Pfeffer, reifen Bananen, Ananas und Orange, vervollständigt durch etwas Eiche überwiegen das Geschmacksprofil.
• Finish: Ein langer und würziger Abgang mit Anspielungen von exotischen Früchten machen das Geschmackserlebnis komplett.

GlenDronach

Ein Whisky, der für einen Film speziell abgefüllt wurde.

Aus der Pressemitteilung: „Der GlenDronach Whisky wurde persönlich von Filmregisseur Matthew Vaughn für seinen neuen Kingsman Film ausgewählt. Um die GlenDronach Kingsman Edition 1991, die das Geburtsjahr des Kingsman-Agenten Gary ‚Eggsy‘ Unwin repräsentiert, zu kreieren, wurden nur die erlesensten Sherry-Fässer von Whisky Maker Rachel Barrie ausgewählt. Dieser freche, unendlich komplexe Highland Whisky verkörpert das Streben des Kingsmans nach unmöglicher Perfektion und seinen unerschütterlichen Glauben an Tradition.“

Original Tasting Notes

Dieser limitierte Whisky ist walnussfarben und weist im Duft dunkle Trauben mit holzigen Noten auf. Im Geschmack zeigt er Aromen von reifen Pflaumen mit einem anhaltenden und warmen Finish. Er hat einen Alkoholgehalt von 48,2% Vol, ist nicht kältefiltriert und wie jeder The GlenDronach Whisky von natürlicher Farbe, was Authentizität, Komplexität und Textur verspricht.

Glenrothes

Der Glenrothes ist noch nicht abgefüllt und wird bis zum 31.10.2017 zur Feier der Übernahme durch die Edrington Group im Fass bleiben. Mehr Infos bei Glenrothes.
