Diese Woche hagelte es nur so von Neuerscheinungen. Viele davon sind auch schon verfügbar. Tomatin hat gleich drei neue angekündigt: einen 14yo Cabernet Sauvignon, einen 9yo Caribbean Rum und einen 21yo Oloroso Sherry. Auch Springbank hat vier Neue ins Rennen geschickt: Kilkerran 12yo, Springbank 12yo CS, 21yo und 18yo. Douglas Laing schickt ein richtiges „Highland Beast“ ins Rennen: Timorous Beastie 40yo! Und ein Kavalan Solist ist auch dabei.

Tomatin 9yo RUM

Der wurde vollständig in einem Rum Fass gelagert.

It is described as enticing aromas of coconut and pineapple developing into creamy banana and vanilla custard on the palate, relaxing with lingering tropical fruits at the finish

Tomatin 14yo Cabernet Sauvignon

Dieser wurde in Rotweinfässern einem Finish unterzogen.

Tomatin explain that the whisky presents flavours of red fruits, honey and citrus spices, rounded off with a punchy fruit jam.

Tomatin 21yo Oloroso Sherry

Dieser wurde in einem Oloroso Sherryfass einem Finish unterzogen.

According to the distillery the malt has flavours of heavy dried fruits, rich sherry, honeyed oak spice and dark chocolate.

Kilkerran 12yo

Der erste zwölfjährige Single Malt aus dem Hause Kilkerran (Springbank). 70 % Bourbon Casks & 30 % Sherry Casks.

• Nose: oak notes are dominant, followed by toasted marshmallows and dried fruit pudding, as well as cherries, marzipan and a hint of peat
• Palate: initially fruity with citrus notes and orange peel, after this: vanilla, butterscotch, honeycomb and digestive biscuits can all be tasted and enjoyed
• Finish: velvet and smooth with lemon meringue, to conclude, there’s an oiliness and a saltiness that you’d expect from a Campbeltown dram

Springbank 12yo CS

70 % Sherry Casks & 30 % Bourbon Casks. Nur limitiert verfügbar.

• Nose: Incredible! A wonderful concoction of nuts, toffee and marzipan among softer notes of coconut shavings, creme brûlée and honeycomb.
• Palate: A beautifully balanced dram with further notes of honeycomb along with toffee cream, chocolate, dried fruit and raisins.
• Finish: Long, big and gentle with traditional dunnage warehouse notes accompanied by sweet salted caramel and maple syrup.

Springbank 21yo

Springbank 18yo

• Nose: Earthy, honeycomb, hints of menthol, marzipan and sugar coated almonds. Let it breath to reveal the traditional salt brine notes of a Campbeltown dram.
• Palate: Salted caramel to the fore. More of that honeycomb is fairly prominent. Not as earthy as the nose may suggest, more lemon zest, nutty and spicy in character to really get the taste buds working.
• Finish: Toffee, salt, brine and hints of peat from this true Campbeltown classic

Timorous Beastie 40yo

210 von diesem „Highland Beast“ sind für Deutschland reserviert. Der Timourous Beastie ist eine Mischung aus verschiedenen Single Malts und somit ein Blended Malt (wurde früher Vatted Malt genannt).

Die Timorous Beastie 40 YO eröffnet in der Nase mit einer Aromenfülle von süßen Gewürzen, Getreide und aromatischen Honigwaben. Am Gaumen zeigt sich sogleich eine erwartete Süße und warme Malznoten welche fein in Gewürznoten eingewoben sind. Das Finish ist elegant, fruchtbetont, aber unaufdringlich und von der honigsüßen Typizität eines wahren Highlanders geprägt.

Kavalan Solist Port

Kavalan Single Malt Whisky hat einen Solist Port Cask für Deutschland aufgelegt. Das Fass hierfür wurde von Andrea Caminneci persönlich ausgewählt. 179 Flaschen in Fassstärke (59,4% Vol.) blieben vom Fass übrig.
