Bei der Glasgow Distillery gibt es ein neues Batch des Glasgow 1770 Triple Distilled: Smooth & Vibrant. Die erste Ausgabe ist jetzt ausverkauft und wird durch die neue Variante ersetzt.

ncf = no chill-filtration (keine Kältefiltration), nca = no color added (ohne Zusatz von Zuckerkulör)

Ich bin auf die neue Variante gespannt. Die drei offiziellen Abfüllungen habe ich bereits in der 21. Blind Tasting Challenge vorgestellt: Glasgow Distillery Vertical. Mir hat der Triple Distilled überraschend gut gefallen. Das „Release No.1“ war ausschließlich in Virgin Oak Fässern gelagert, der Nachfolger in einer Kombination aus Virgin Oak und Ex-Bourbon Fässern. Die genauen Anteile wurden leider nicht verraten. Ich bin gespannt.

Bisher ist der neue Triple Distilled nur im Online Shop der Destillerie verfügbar, kommt aber sicher auch bald nach Deutschland.

Offizielle Tasting Notes

• Nose: The nose opens up to sweet vanilla and white chocolate leading to fresh summer fruits of aromatic apple, pear and peaches.
• Palate: The palate is well balanced and smooth with vibrant vanilla, soft caramel and double cream opening up to succulent orchard fruits and berries followed by delicate floral notes alongside a sweet almond nuttiness.
• Finish: The finish is long and lingering with notes of rich honey, anise and black pepper and hints of warming woody spice.

New Glasgow 1770 Triple Distilled Following Sell out success of Inaugural Release

Following the sell-out success of the inaugural Glasgow 1770 Single Malt Triple Distilled release, The Glasgow Distillery Company have just announced the release of their next Triple Distilled expression which differs slightly from the first iteration, but is equally as impressive.

The latest Glasgow 1770 Triple Distilled is crafted from the finest malted barley; distilled three times in traditional copper pot stills at The Glasgow Distillery and combined with the incredibly pure water of Loch Katrine.

Whilst Triple Distilled ‚Release No.1‘ was matured exclusively in virgin oak casks, the new iteration has been matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and virgin oak casks, married together before bottling to produce an incredibly smooth and vibrant spirit.
