Drei neue Schweizer Abfüllungen von Langatun kommen auf den Markt. Glenrothes verkauft Online zwei Einzelfässer aus 1976 (39yo) in edler Aufmachung und zusammen mit einer VIP-Tour. Glenmorangie bringt einen neuen Grand Vintage Malt – dieses Mal aus dem Jahr 1989. Und den Smokehead gibt es jetzt auch in einer „High Voltage“ Ausgabe.

• First Fill Oloroso Cask Finish – Tasting Notes
  • Nase: geschliffenes Holz, würzig, frischer Fruchtsalat.
  • Geschmack: vollmundig, dezente Honignoten, Dörrpflaumen.
  • Nachklang: leichter, würziger Nachklang mit schöner Holznote.
• First Fill Sauternes Cask Finish:
  Das Fass stammt vom „Château Sigalas“, einer „Grand Cru“ Domäne in der Region Bordeaux.

Glenrothes

• Cask #2682:
  Distilled in 1976 in the old, original stillhouse at Glenrothes Distillery. This exquisite single cask was matured to perfection in its Speyside warehouse for 39 years in a refill bourbon hogshead to develop its character of Lemon peel, almonds and cedar wood with a smooth and fruity finish. Cask strength at 43.6% ABV and natural colour, this exclusive bottle comes in a beautiful oak box with a display plinth, coasters and leather bound book telling the story of the year 1976.
• Cask #2685:
  Distilled in 1976 in the old and original stillhouse at Glenrothes distillery. This exquisite single cask was matured to perfection in its Speyside warehouse for 39 years in a refill bourbon hogshead to develop its character of Tropical Fruits, Liquorice and Coffee Creams with a gentle spicy finish. Cask strength at 42.3% ABV and natural colour, this exclusive bottle comes in a beautiful oak box with a plinth, coasters and leather bound book telling the story of 1976.

Glenmorangie

Aus der Pressemitteilung: „Komponiert aus erlesenen Fässern feinsten Single Malts ist Glenmorangie Grand Vintage Malt 1989 der zweite Release der exklusiven Bond House No. 1 Kollektion. Dieser reiche und komplexe Whisky vereint einige der letzten Batches, die im ehemaligen Brennhaus destilliert wurden. Über ein Jahrhundert die Heimat der höchsten Brennblasen Schottlands. 27 Jahre reifte dieser Jahrgangs-Whisky teilweise in ehemaligen Côte-Rôtie Weinfässern.“

Original Tasting Notes

• Farbe: Rehbraun
• An der Nase: Äußerst vielschichtig mit Aromen getoasteter Marshmallows, Mandeln und einer duftenden Kopfnote von Vanille mit Weichtoffee. Noten von Bratäpfeln springen hervor mit roten Früchten, schwarzen Johannisbeeren und tropischen Früchten, gefolgt von frisch gebackenem Brot, Bienenwachs und einem Hauch Holzrauch.
• Am Gaumen: Siruphaft, einem pfefferigen Gaumengefühl folgen reichhaltige, komplexe Noten von Bratapfel, butterweichem Toffee mit sanften Zitrus-Noten. Mit etwas Wasser weitere tropische Früchte, intensivere Zitrus-Noten wie von einer trockenen Clementinen-Zeste.
• Im Nachhall: Noten von Orangenblüten verbinden sich mit Honig, einem Hauch Eukalyptusöl, süßem Anis und Leder in einem langen, kräftigen Nachhall mit klassischen Aromen von Holz und Eichenspänen.

Smokehead High Voltage

Ein ähnliches Design wie der neue High Voltage hat auch der normale Smokehead bekommen.

Original Tasting Notes

• The First Impression – Breathe it in and feel the rush of spirit hit the senses and the nose prickle. Intense peat and smoke, maritime air, porridge oats, clean vanilla and toffee.
• The Full-on Flavour – A burn of hot spirit and the mouth fills with smoke, feeling almost thick with oiliness before softening and becoming creamier, with nutty, briny and citrus notes.
• The Finale – The mouth is almost in shock, numb and tingling. A sweetness mixes nicely with the slowly fading smoke, leaving a salty tang.
