Programm 2018

White Stag Dinner – Friday 29th June 6.30pm for 7pm. £100 per ticket.

The White Stag Dinner is in its 6th year and will take place on the Friday evening in the Grand Marquee in the grounds of the Distillery. It is set to be another great evening with good conversation and the usual fantastic, exclusive drams!  It’s always a wonderful opportunity to get together with the Arran White Stags; the community of Arran friends worldwide who join us and support us on our journey through the whisky world. You will be welcomed with a Champagne reception and go on to enjoy a three course meal featuring some of the best local island produce.  Drams of choice will accompany the evening and each guest will take home a commemorative 20cl bottle of an exclusive expression of our Single Malt which will be kept as a surprise until the evening itself! Each table will be hosted by a different member of the Arran Team. All White Stags are kindly requested to wear something White!

Arran Malt & Music Festival – Saturday 30th June 11am – 5pm.

Entrance is free of charge. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. You will have the opportunity to take short guided tours of the distillery and there will be stalls and our famous whisky bar where you can try some of our whiskies by the dram, as well as enjoy local beers and other refreshments. There will also be food stalls where you can try some delicious local produce for lunch to keep you fortified during the music and masterclasses. Hourly mini tastings in our Tasting Bar will be available for those who don’t want to take a full masterclass.

Whisky & Food – John Boyd and Campbell Laing. 1pm – 2pm. Crofters Cottage. £25 per ticket.

This fantastic interactive whisky and food-pairing masterclass includes specially prepared canapés to accompany your whisky while hosts John and Campbell investigate what makes certain food and whisky work together so well! A great chance to get some great chat with one of our legendary tour guides Campbell and taste some of John’s delicious food – and ideal combination! Hosted in the atmospheric Crofter’s Cottage, this will be a most enjoyable class.

Andy Bell – 1.45pm – 2.45pm. Bonded Warehouse 1. £40 per ticket. Limited spaces.

Join Andy Bell in for his annual masterclass which always holds a few surprises!  Andy will take you through a selection of his favourite Arran whiskies and entertainment and good banter is guaranteed. This one sells out quickly so make sure you book quickly.

Jaclyn McKie  – 2pm – 3pm. White Stag Tasting. For signed up White Stags only. Bonded Warehouse 6.  £40 per ticket.

A White Stag get together!  Join Jaclyn in meeting up with some other members of our Arran White Stag community and enjoy the true spirit of the community as you share whiskies specially contributed by members of the community themselves, plus a few little extras! The proceeds from tickets purchased for this masterclass will be donated to The Arran Trust. This masterclass is restricted to 25 spaces and names of participants will be drawn at random.

Ultimate Masterclass – Selecting the official 2019 Festival bottling with Master Distiller James MacTaggart 2.30pm – 3.30pm Blending Room, Rowan House. £100 per ticket.

This one needs no introduction.  Gain access to Master Distiller James’s private blending room in Rowan House to spend an hour with him tasting cask samples specially chosen by his unique nose!  A wonderful opportunity to pick the brains of the man who directs production at the Isle of Arran Distillery and have a hand in selecting the official Arran Malt & Music Festival bottling for 2019. This masterclass is restricted to 10 spaces and names of participants will be drawn at random.

Whisky & Chocolate Pairing – John Boyd and Campbell Laing. 2.45pm – 3.45pm. Crofters Cottage. £25 per ticket.

We are bringing back the chocolate and whisky masterclass for 2017 due to popular demand! Bringing together our own Single Malt with the artisan chocolates of master chocolatier James of Arran based in Brodick, this decadent experience is bound to delight your tastebuds! Handmade chocolates perfectly matched with the best of our drams, sit back, relax and enjoy the sweet taste of Arran!

Stillmens‘ Master Class – The Stillmen. 3pm – 4pm. Bonded Warehouse 3. £40 per ticket. Limited spaces.

One of our most popular classes! Led by Stillsman John Dowens, this masterclass is held in Bonded Warehouse No 3. The exclusive session with great banter will see John and the other stillmen draw drams from six of their personal favourite casks; some extraordinary whisky will be sampled – it’s the chance to try some casks that are earmarked especially by the guys that make the whisky. With limited places this one is always a sell-out, so be quick!

How do we get our tickets?

All tickets except those for the Ultimate Masterclass and the White Stag Masterclass will be sold from www.arranevents.com.

The Ultimate and the White Stag Masterclasses are likely to be popular, so in order to make things as fair as possible, we will draw names from a hat to allocate the tickets for these two classes. There are 10 places available for the Ultimate Masterclass, and 25 places available on the White Stag Masterclass (and you must be a signed up White Stag to attend the latter).

If you would like the chance to purchase a ticket for these, here is what you need to do:

1) E-mail jaclyn@arranwhisky.com between Monday 19th February 7pm and Thursday 22nd February 1pm 2018 entitling your e-mail ULTIMATE MASTERCLASS or WHITE STAG MASTERCLASS. Please note that you can request a ticket for both classes but if your name is drawn for both you will be asked to make a choice between the classes as they are held at the same time.

2) In your e-mail please provide us with your full name, address and contact telephone number, and confirm if it’s the Ultimate or White Stag masterclass that you are interested in (or both).

3) Please bear in mind that names on the tickets are non-transferrable. If you e-mail on behalf of someone else and are successful in obtaining a ticket, we will not be able to transfer it over to the other person. In this instance, we will re-draw the name and re-allocate the ticket.

4) We will draw 10 names for James’s Ultimate Masterclass and 25 names for the White Stag Masterclass and contact everyone by Friday 23rd February at 5pm.  You will have until 5pm on Monday 26th February to call 01770 830 264 to confirm your participation in the masterclass you have applied to join and pay for your ticket. If you do not get in touch with us, we will contact the next person on the reserve list.

We are looking forward to welcoming you all back to Arran for another wonderful weekend celebrating Arran Whisky, music and friendship!
