Mosstowie wurden die Whiskys aus der Lomond Still bei Miltonduff bezeichnet. Im Rahmen der 125th Anniversary Series von Gordon & MacPhail ist dies die dritte Abfüllung: Mosstowie 1979 40yo. Ein 40-jähriger Whisky aus 1979 gehört schon zu den selteneren Abfüllungen und dieses hier ist dazu auch noch eine rare. Mosstowie wurde nämlich nur von 1964 bis 1981 hergestellt.

• Colour: Dark Gold
• Aroma :Fragrant vanilla pod and butterscotch aromas lead to candied peel and hedgerow blossom. Leather and stewed apple notes come to the fore alongside blackcurrant leaves.
• Taste: Flavours of black pepper complement spiced grapefruit and subtle sherry influences. Dark chocolate undertones develop accompanied by tart raspberries and strawberry liquorice.
• Finish: Long and medium-bodied with a hint of fresh mint leaves on the finish.

PENULTIMATE ‘LAST CASK’ WHISKY REVEALED IN GORDON & MACPHAIL’S 125^thANNIVERSARY SERIES 

We are pleased to reveal that the third of four whiskies being released to celebrate our 125^th anniversary: Welcome to the Gordon & MacPhail 1979 Mosstowie from Miltonduff Distillery.

Comprising spirit from the now-removed Lomond stills at Miltonduff Distillery, this exceptional 40-year-old single malt is from the last cask of Mosstowie maturing in our famous warehouse in Elgin.

Extremely rare, only 164 bottles are available worldwide of this full-bodied gem, full of sherry influences and dark chocolate notes.

Stephen Rankin, Director of Prestige: “Each of the extremely rare whiskies released to commemorate our 125^thanniversary is truly unique – from our very last cask of that particular make. No proprietary bottling was ever brought to market by the distillery so this special whisky is a fitting tribute to our tradition of championing unheralded single malts.”
