Neu: Longrow 18yo Rum/Sherry – mit Tasting Notes
Ab sofort ist ein neuer Longrow 18yo erhältlich. Im Gegensatz zum Vorgänger ist dies kein reiner Sherry-Fass Whisky mehr sondern eine Mischung aus 60% Rum und 40% Refill Sherry Casks.

„Die Lagerung der Qualitäten fand zu 60% in Rum und in 40 % in Refill Sherry Casks statt. In den vorangegangenen Jahren bestand die Abfüllung zu 100% aus Sherry Casks. Wie gewohnt wurde auf das Hinzufügen von Farbstoff, sowie eine Kältefiltration verzichtet.“
Produziert wird der Longrow übrigens bei Springbank, wo noch das gesamte Malz selbst auf den Malzböden hergestellt wird. Neben Springbank (2,5 fach destilliert und leicht torfig) und Longrow (2 fach destilliert und stark torfig) wird auch noch Hazelburn (3 fach destilliert und ungetorft) produziert.
Original Tasting Notes
- Nose: Spicy, cinnamon & ginger. Apple cider spirit reminiscent of Calvados; pastry and pear drops.
- Palate: Very buttery. The ginger is there as the nose suggests developing into marzipan & coconut notes. A thick sweetness of sugar cane molasses and juicy apples.
- Finish: More peat coming through in this years bottling. Spicy with hints of nutmeg and burnt embers.
