anCnoc Peatlands – ab sofort erhältlich
Von der Knockdhu Distillery gibt es ab sofort eine neue Sonderabfüllung des anCnoc. Neben dem neuen Peatlands (9 ppm) gibt es bereits die anderen drei getorften Abfüllungen Rutter (11 ppm), Flaughter (14.8 ppm) und Cutter (20.5 ppm). In Schweden gibt es darüber hinaus auch noch den Tushkar (mit 15ppm).

anCnoc „Peatlands“ ist exklusiv für den europäischen Markt verfügbar und mittlerweile die vierte getorfte Edition – für den deutschen Markt – nach Rutter, Flaughter und Cutter. Der Phenolgehalt ist mit 9ppm angegeben. Die Limitierung beträgt europaweit 6.420 Flaschen. Gelagert wurde die Qualität 10 Jahre in American oak ex-bourbon barrels.
Original Tasting Notes
Like its sister expressions, it retains the signature dark smokiness but with a phenol content of 9PPM, Peatlands has a delicate and more gentle finish. Flavour notes of the liquid, which is iridescent amber in colour, begin with sweet citrus, underpinned by spicy cloves and nutmeg on the nose. To taste, the Peatlands offers sticky and creamy toffee richness, embodied by a lasting wave of a warm and woody smokiness.
- Colour: Iridescent amber
- Nose: Citrus sweetness to begin with, followed by a robust peaty presence. The underpinning is delicate and estery with spicy notes of green apples, cloves and nutmeg.
- Taste: Coats the mouth with a sticky, creamy toffee richness only to cover this sweet prelude with a wave of warming wood smoke a few moments later.
- The finish is long-lasting but with a more gentle peatiness.
